György Ligeti – Atmosphères

I can really appreciate this work as the composer has seemingly made no pretence of tonality while obeying the rules of classical composition (as opposed to something like Stockhausen).

He has concentrated on texture and the result is something that draws in the listener and commands concentration.

A success.

Hear it here.
